New fence installation in Keighley
Putting up a fence for the first time, or replacing one from scratch? Tell us the length, the height and the look you’re after, and we’ll get back to you to arrange a quote.
Choosing a style
- Close board – vertical feather-edge boards on rails. Strong and private, and a common choice for exposed gardens.
- Lap or overlap panels – ready-made panels between posts. Usually the lowest-cost option.
- Slatted or hit-and-miss – gaps between boards let some wind through, which can help on a blowy site.
- Picket and low fences – for front gardens and borders.
- Composite – see composite fencing.
Posts and gravel boards
Most fences fail at the posts, not the panels. Concrete posts don’t rot and suit damp or exposed spots; timber posts look softer and can be cheaper. A gravel board along the bottom keeps panels off wet soil so they last longer. Ask about both when you get your quote.
Before the work starts
- Check the boundary. Make sure you know where it runs, and talk to your neighbour if the fence sits on a shared line.
- Height. Many garden fences can go up to 2 metres without planning permission, but lower limits can apply next to a road or path, and some properties have extra restrictions. See Planning Portal: fences, gates and garden walls, and check with Bradford Council if you’re not sure.
- Access and waste. Say if the old fence needs taking away, or if materials have to come through the house.
Three steps to a quote
- Send us the details. Fill in the quote form or ring 07930 966630. The rough length of fence and a photo or two are a big help.
- We look over the job and get in touch if anything needs clearing up.
- We arrange your quote. You’re under no obligation to go ahead.
